Upson To Return In October

Matthew Upson is set to return to full training as early as October.

The defender has been sidelined since last season where he ruptured his Achilles tendon in the warm up before the Villa match.

News that he will return to full training this early will be a boost for the club, who have started well in the Championship campaign so far.

Speaking to the official site Steve Bruce said:

'Matt is progressing exactly according to plan, he's up on his feet and in his next stage of rehab.

'We expect him to be training by the beginning of October which is only six or seven weeks away.

'It's very good that he's bang on schedule.'
