Hughton Praise For Redmond

Birmingham boss Chris Hughton was happy with the win over Portsmouth on Tuesday and he was even happier with winning goalscorer Nathan Redmond.

The 17 year old came on as a substitute with the match still at 0-0 and volleyed the ball home on 88 minutes to give Blues a precious win.

It was a win that kept Birmingham in the play off places by lifting them up to third in the table.

'He's a wonderful player,' Hughton said about Redmond. 'He's a real talent, we genuinely don't like to get too carried away about players because we've seen it before when you get a player who doesn't get to the levels you think he is going to.

'At the moment I think we've managed him quite well. Certainly he's a talent, we'd like to think he'll be a player for the future.'
