Burke Taking Nothing For Granted

Burke Taking Nothing For Granted

Birmingham City are on the brink of making the play-offs, they need just one point from their remaining two games, but Chris Burke is not counting his chickens just yet.

Burke has been in this situation before and knows that you can take nothing for granted as he has missed out at the death with Cardiff City in the 2008/09 season.

When Cardiff looked like they had made it, they lost their final game to Sheffield Wednesday, missing out on a chance of making the Premier League and picking up all the bonus` that go with it.

Burke said: "Everybody is saying to me we`re nearly there but we can`t take anything for granted.

"Trust me I have been many a times in the play-offs and not made it.

"I remember my first season at Cardiff and we missed out by a goal scored, Preston took it from us.

"I know we`re fourth and we want to stay fourth.

"But looking at the bigger picture we want to get in these play-offs.

"I`m not taking anything for granted - we`re not taking anything for granted."
