Somebody asked me yesterday if I found it funny that Alex McLeish had been sacked by Villa after walking out on Blues, funny thing is I don`t.
It`s not that I like McLeish very much, far from it. He didn`t exactly play the style of football that kept you awake for the full 90 minutes when he was at St Andrews, he`s good at getting a club relegated but that`s about all.
I didn`t care when he walked out on City, I was more puzzled as to why Villa wanted him, they were a club which was supposed to have ambition of moving onto bigger things, but the appointment of McLeish showed to me that the powers that be at Villa HQ either had no clue as to what they were doing or the ginger one came very cheap.
I have however, had a few smirks to myself when hearing Villa fans saying what they would like to do to him, well you would wouldn't you? Then you think on how he got us relegated and then decided it was time to move and I must say, just for a minute I felt sorry for the average Villa fan, not because they probably wouldn`t be able to spell their names right, but because at the end of the day they are just football fans like ourselves.
But they were football fans that were ignored by the club when they protested about the appointment, the same fans that bring money into the club. And that is happening too much all around the country, just look at what Steve Kean has done to Blackburn. The fans knew it would happen months before it did.
So do I find it funny that McLeish has gone? No, not funny in the slightest, neither will I find it funny when he walks into his next job, because for some strange reason it will happen.
