'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Is The Sacking Of McLeish Funny?

Somebody asked me yesterday if I found it funny that Alex McLeish had been sacked by Villa after walking out on Blues, funny thing is I don`t.

It`s not that I like McLeish very much, far from it. He didn`t exactly play the style of football that kept you awake for the full 90 minutes when he was at St Andrews, he`s good at getting a club relegated but that`s about all.

I didn`t care when he walked out on City, I was more puzzled as to why Villa wanted him, they were a club which was supposed to have ambition of moving onto bigger things, but the appointment of McLeish showed to me that the powers that be at Villa HQ either had no clue as to what they were doing or the ginger one came very cheap.

I have however, had a few smirks to myself when hearing Villa fans saying what they would like to do to him, well you would wouldn't you? Then you think on how he got us relegated and then decided it was time to move and I must say, just for a minute I felt sorry for the average Villa fan, not because they probably wouldn`t be able to spell their names right, but because at the end of the day they are just football fans like ourselves.

But they were football fans that were ignored by the club when they protested about the appointment, the same fans that bring money into the club. And that is happening too much all around the country, just look at what Steve Kean has done to Blackburn. The fans knew it would happen months before it did.

So do I find it funny that McLeish has gone? No, not funny in the slightest, neither will I find it funny when he walks into his next job, because for some strange reason it will happen.

sorry mate but the only thing that could have made it funnier is if he'd have taken them down
Mr Parker
Mr Parker you nearly got your wish, it will be interesting if we see him back in Management. Huge mistake by the Villa board to appoint him, at least they had the guts to admit their mistake and do something about it. COTVABU

If the season had been just a couple of weeks longer we could have been playing vila next season, the ginger tosser will get what he deserves soon

In one of his last interviews he was quoted " I was one goal and three minutes away from being the greatest manager in Birmingham City's history". Serious quote, not made up..The vast majority of Villa fans weren't bothered he came from Blues and were prepared to give him a chance BUT the football he played was the most boring and negative we have ever seen at VP..He was everything Blues fans promised us, and worse

I find nothing funny about McLeish or this season ........ I just hope the guy never gets chance to ruin another club (unless he goes to Albion) ..

Agreed Foxxy, no matter who get him next, I feel sorry for them. I don't blame you folks laughing at his performance with the Villa this year either to be honest!
The Fear
Yeah and likely in the Championship, hope he comes back to haunts you! Can't see a Premiership outfit coming in for him! Even a bigger club like Blackpool or Norwich wouldn't be interested. Both soon to be manager less I predict. UTV
