Southampton Fear Possible Butland Price Rise

Southampton Fear Possible Butland Price Rise

Southampton are hoping that Blues Keeper Jack Butland`s price does not go through the roof after he was called up for Euro 2012.

Saints want the young Blues keeper who showed what he can do while on loan with Cheltenham Town last season, Saints had him watched at Whaddon Road three times.

But any bargain that the south coast club thought about getting may well have gone after the call up to the England squad, the 19 year old may not have made a first team appearance for Blues but it does mean that he is now a more valuable commodity.

Birmingham and England goalkeeping coach Dave Watson, who has worked with ex-Blues keepers Joe Hart and Ben Foster, says that Butland has got the potential to be a better keeper.
