Clarks View - Peterborough - home

Birmingham manager Lee Clark admitted that it was a big relief to see his side collect their first win of the season at home to Peterborough United on Saturday.

It was a win that Clark enjoyed but felt that there was a lot of room for improvement in a game that was won by a bit of a fortuitous goal from the Peterborough goalkeeper.

one in front, Blues hung onto the lead as if their lives depended on it and Clark was happy for the first time this season.

"The win was more important than anything," said the 39 year old to the Sunday Mercury.

"If we had put in a fantastic performance and only drawn the game then it would have been a frustrating day.

"I`m not saying the performance was fantastic by any stretch of the imagination but there was a lot of character shown by the group, and the support from the terraces was fantastic because that has helped us.

"We all had a bit of tension, there was tension around the whole place, staff and players alike because we`re desperate to do well.

"But I thought the players put some terrific effort in at times to keep the scores intact so we`re more than happy with that."

Wrap it up anyway you want to, he should be admitting that we were bloody lucky.

A win but still disjointed against the poorest team in the league, Caddis impressed however still shaky at back, midfield average and please can someone tell me how Marlon still seems to be 1st on the teamsheet every week?? until a couple of shots in last 10 mins he seemed anonymous again surely we can look at giving Asante a shout or even getting Jervis back after his month loan finishes.

We might have been lucky but its better than losing and a step in the right direction. Just support the manager ffs!
