The man who is interested in getting his hands on Birmingham City, Gianni Paladini, insists that the club should be in the Premier league.
The ex-Queens Park Rangers chairman is testing the water at City by making current owner Carson Yeung a £25million offer to take over.
There have been reports that Yeung considers the club to be worth more in the region of £40million.
But Paldaini is still hopeful that a deal can be struck between the two parties and then he wants to set about taking Blues back into the top flight.
'We have put in a bid and are waiting for Birmingham to agree with everything,' he told Birmingham Mail.
'The club has got great potential and the fanbase is big. It is a big club and the Premiership is the place it should be.'
Paladini was asked why he would pick Birmingham as the club he would try to buy, he said that he would love to impress the fans and was impressed by the size of the club and it's fanbase.
He added: 'There is a lot of prestige. You want to be involved with football and do the best that you can do.
'Birmingham is a great club and if you do the right things you are going to make a lot of people happy.'
