'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Zigic Talk Was Just Speculation

Birmingham City striker Nikola Zigic was nowhere to be seen again for the game against Bolton Wanderers in the week, but the club was quick to quash rumours.

Zigic's omission from the side sparked all sorts of rumours about his future with the Blues, but Terry McDermott explained, it was just tactical.

The Serbian had no part in the plans that Lee Clark had for the game, but any talk about him leaving is just speculation.

Zigic has not been short on goals in the games that he has played in, his one Championship start saw him net twice and he has found another goal in each of the two substitute appearances he made.

McDermott explained to reporters 'Ziggy just wasn't selected for the game - the manager decided to go with a little bit more pace.

'It was just a tactical thing. He is fit. It was just the manager's choice.'
