Black Warns Blues Over QPR

Eric Black has warned Blues not to underestimate QPR despite them lying third from bottom in the table.

The assistant manager believes that they are made of sterner stuff in front of their own fans after scouting them recently ahead of our clash.

'Loftus Road is an old type stadium where the supporters are right on top of you so it can be an intimidating atmosphere.

'I saw them against Ipswich, where they started really well.

'They went 1-0 up and looked as if they were going to go on and win the game, but then conceded a goal from a penalty and a corner and ultimately lost the game.

'Although they haven't had a particularly good start to the season, they've got some decent players in their side.

'They've got Dexter Blackstock who they took from Southampton - he's a good footballer.

'There's also Cook who came from Watford and Zak Rehman from Fulham and although striker Kevin Gallon is in the twilight of his carer he's still a good footballer.

'It will probably make it slightly more open in that they're the home side and they have to try and win it, whereas when teams come to St Andrew's they don't necessarily need to do that.

'We might find there might be times when there is more space in behind and more opportunities to counter.

'On Saturday against Hull I thought our front pairing were excellent.

'DJ was outstanding for the first hour and Bendtner was excellent as well.

'Both of those players are capable of playing against set defences or on the counter attack, so we're confident we can break them down.'
