'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dyche Not Happy With Referee

Burnley boss Sean Dyche was left questioning the reasoning behind Dean Marney's sending off in the game against Birmingham on Saturday.

With the score at 1-1 and just ten minutes left on the clock, Marney was shown the red card for a heavy tackle on Paul Robinson.

Blues then went on to with the game with a last minute strike from Marlon King and at the end of the game Dyche, who had a reputation for hard tackling in his playing days was neither impressed with his side or the referee.

He told Sky Sports: 'Some of the football was excellent but you are having to earn wins not just by beating 11, we've having to go beyond that.

'The officials should be there to manage the game and not make decisions that change it radically.

'Apparently [Marne's red card] was for excessive force so I think you've got to tackle softly now.

'I don't think you're allowed to tackle the ball. Maybe you are not allowed to use your feet in a tackle.'
