Martinez Wants Redmond

Martinez Wants Redmond

Martinez has reignited his interest in Redmond at his new club Everton. He had expressed an interest whilst at Wigan and nothing seems to have changed on the matter.

Everton are possibly the biggest club in the mix for Redmond now and with a manager like Martinez in charge, Redmond could well trust him when he promises playing time. On the other hand, a bigger club means a bigger squad and Redmond is on record saying he won't move to a club which wont serve his development.

An interesting point is that Redmond was quoted just two days ago saying he loves Birmingham and does not want to move (this can be found on the Birmingham City Official Site), however with it not looking likely that Blues will reach the Premier League anytime soon, he may feel the need to go.

With the fee looking around £2 million this is possibly going to be another deal Birmingham fans are not happy with. Redmond is a homegrown talent which the fans will find difficult to see go on the cheap!

A shame we have such a talent at a time we are so vulnerable financially!
