Asante Recalled To Depleted Blues Side

Asante Recalled To Depleted Blues Side

Birmingham City striker Akwasi Asante is back at St Andrews after being recalled from his loan spell at Shrewsbury Town.

Injuries in the Blues squad have left them short of back up for the front line with Nikola Zigic out with a back injury and Peter Lovenkrands still suffering from a knock picked up in training.

And of course there is no Marlon King who is looking for another club.

Asante has been getting noticed at the Shrews, making a terrific start in the 2-0 win over Swindon Town at the weekend.

The 20 year old has only made one appearance in City's first team, which was in the Europa League against Nacional.
