Roberto Carlos Almost Signed for Birmingham City

International legend Robert Carlos, famous for his time at Inter Milan and Real Madrid has revealed in an interview of how he almost signed for Birmingham City.

Almost

Carlos was a youngster at the time and was making his international debut for his national side. He said that he remembers at the exact time he was ready to sign for Birmingham but his then club Uniao Sao Joao were asking too much money for the player. In hindsight it probably looks like a small fee now.

Blues were managed by Barry Fry at this time and had just been promoted from the old Division Two to Division One.

Missed Out

So when the disappoint of missing out on a dream move to England subsided Carlos ended up going to Inter Milan; after gaining international attention whilst playing for Brazil.

Not bad really But what a turn of events it would have been for Blues to of had a player like him on our books after any amount of time.
