Carson Yeung Set for Another Hammer Blow

Former owner of Birmingham City Football Club, Carson Yeung, has been given two weeks to prepare a defence to a civil case against him.

Yeung's lawyer pleaded to the court for extra time to take instruction from Yeung and gather evidence following a new charge filed on March 15.

Yeung, currently serving six years in Stanley Prison for money laundering, will have to answer a civil action for HK$2.3 million in unpaid debt to a finance company.

The company contest Yeung has only paid back interest on the loan.

Hansom finance submitted that this case was simple and straight forward and objected to the extended time. Yeung's counsel had asked for a four-week adjournment.

The former owner is accused of borrowing HK$2 million from the company on April 10 last year shortly before standing trial. It is argued that he has only repaid some HK$120,000, failing to pay the principle sum by July 10.

Hairdresser turned businessman Yeung must be wondering when it will all end, on the face of things, not quite yet. Yeung bought Birmingham City Football Club in 2009; finally losing control of the club earlier this year.

News of such proceedings should have no effect with the running of the club or the ongoing efforts to sell the club. Birmingham are currently enjoying close season after remaining in the Championship on the very last day of the season.

Why was Yeung borrowing money right before he was to stand trial?

Should he of been borrowing money? NO, yes he should have to pay it back as well, but surely the finance company have been a bit daft lending him that money right before a money laundering trial
so he could get money for himself but ***** all for our club? talk about BS
this guy is just out to do anything he can to suit himself, its borderline hilarious how desperate it seems he is
