Another Narrow Victory

I suppose this classes as a good run of form, but sadly we are still hearing the same old after match comments.

After a flukey goal against Derby and a total capitulation by Sheffield Utd at least the Albion game gave us some deserved inspiration.

Four wins on the trot now has Bruce convinced he is safe again, and that the fans will forget all about his bare faced insults in our direction.

Problem is, the same old questions remain; the problems are still there.

Another narrow win does not change that, especially when Bruce comes out and almost quotes himself verbatim on the excuses, the things we must do better at, that we all heard at the start of the season and in some cases, last season.

Speaking to the official site after last nights 1-0 win over Coventry, he said, again:

'Towards the end our pace and athleticism with the youngsters we've got in there has caused them all sorts of problems.

'We could have scored six in the last 20 minutes as Coventry committed themselves forward.

'With two minutes to go we had six people in the box and I am scratching my head thinking just a little bit of composure would kill the game off.

'But it is still an absolutely great result as only one other team have won here this season.

'I thought their attitude and hunger was terrific and it was another really decent performance.

'But we have got to carry it on as we're only a quarter of the way through.'

I have to say we were truly awful against you Blues. At least you are grinding out points...we can't even do that properly!

That one other team was us, and we outplayed them. Tomorrow we meet you.

narrow it may have been but you are grinding out the results that are keeping you at the top end of the ccc and in with a chance of automatic promotion...
