Goalkeeper Out on Loan to Lincoln

Birmingham`s third keeper Nick Townsend has been shipped out on loan to Lincoln City. Townsend will be hoping to get first team football at the Imps as the loan is for the remainder of the season.

It is unlikely the young keeper would have played any minutes this season with Darren Randolph looking to remain as number one and long serving Colin Doyle comfortably behind him.

Townsend has spent time at Lincoln before and could be the reason behind him returning to the club. The more familiar he is with the club and the manager the more likely it is he will play and to a good standard of form.

Nick Townsend is a graduate of the Blues youth team and is yet to make a first team appearance for the club in a competitive game. He will be hoping to follow the likes of Doyle and Butland as graduate first team players. The 19 year old played 14 times last time out at Lincoln.

Delighted to have him back. Gone straight into our team today for our final pre-season friendly at Stalybridge Celtic.

Glad to see some feed back on the young lad, Wish him and you guys a good season!

With no option on his contract this year he may move to Lincoln permanently. Can't see him breaking in here.
