Adeyemi Hands In Transfer Request

Adeyemi Hands In Transfer Request

Vice captain, Tom Adeyemi is believed to have handed in a transfer request to pave away to Cardiff City according to Sky Sports sources.

After the sales of former Blues player Jordon Mutch to QPR and Gary Medel to Inter, it looks almost certain Adeyemi will be the player to replace them. The 22 year old was given the vice captaincy role last week in an attempt to keep him at the club but it has proven to be to no avail.

Adeyemi joined Birmingham on a two year deal last summer from Norwich and was a stand out player last season. His powerful, direct running and midfield leadership gifted Blues vital points last season and will be hugely missed.

The former Brentford man is set to become the 5th promising youngster Blues have flogged for less than they were possibly worth after the sale of Jack Butland (Stoke), Nathan Redmond (Norwich), Foday Nabay (Fulham), and Jordon Mutch (Cardiff.)

And still, with the on going takeover speculation and the BIHL still in charge, there's not much Blues can do but accept any offers that are thrown at them.

Update: Birmingham have rejected Adeyemi's request and are meeting with the player to discuss his concerns. - Editor

Terrible to see him go, understandable that he would like to go to Cardiff, they will be going for promotion this season if all goes well. I think we would do well to get near the £1m mark as his contract is running out.

Completely gone against Clark's trust when he appointed him as vice captain. He should have turned it down. Disappointing really.
04/08/2014 22:38:00
You have to wonder why Clark gave it him, maybe it was to try and keep him at the club?
04/08/2014 23:15:00
With 12 months left on his deal, Blues have little choice, he should of had the decency to sign a new deal and have them pay for him fairly.
04/08/2014 23:21:00
Boooooo Tom, you've only been here 12 months you *****er
04/08/2014 23:23:00
That thought did cross my mind, yes. But once he's been given it, it shows he'll get regular game time and it's just not acceptable, in my view. Adeyemi should have turned down the role if he wanted to leave.
05/08/2014 12:20:00
Amen to that Sask! He shouldn't of taken the role to me he is a coward.
05/08/2014 13:18:00
Couldn't agree more! He's lead people on by taking the role. Just when we all got opimistic over the new season... Never boring being a blues fan though!
05/08/2014 15:24:00
You're right , there's always trouble.
