The Birmingham Mail are reporting that Birmingham City are set to sign Wolves midfielder David Davis.

Birmingham are in the market for a central midfielder after Tom Adyeemi left for Cardiff last week. The timing of the transfer has left Lee Clark without a certain first team tackling midfielder.

Blues will be hoping to tie up the deal before their next league game with is against Brighton in the Sky Bet Championship on August 16.

David Davis is an athletic ball winning midfielder believed to be similar to Adeyemi. He originally made his way into the Wolves team back in their Premier League days but has since seen his career dwindle.

Birmingham have funds available from the influx of cash from Adeyemi and Jordan Mutch`s heavy sell-on clause.

The deal is confirmed. He is brilliant. I believe he could be better than Tom, seriously! Really happy with that signing.
