Arsenal Could Be Desperate For Zigic

Arsenal Could Be Desperate For Zigic

A Serbian newspaper, Zurnal, is reporting that Nikola Zigic is now a transfer target for Arsenal following the injury to Giroud.

The paper are writing that he is scheduled to have a medical as early as today.

Zigic left Birmingham after his contract expired this summer. The front man would not take a pay cut to remain at the club where he built considerable status.

Olivier Giroud is going to be out until well into 2015 after fracturing his ankle away at Everton with a half-hearted attempt at a tackle.

It is no secret Arsenal are now after a striker and wish for a deal to be done very quickly. Zigic would fit that bill as he is a free agent.

However that could be the only bill he fits, it would seem Arsenal are looking at much higher reputations to bring in. They have been linked with United`s Danny Welback and Loic Remy in recent days.

Treat this one with some scientism. Birmingham look well for offloading the huge contract the Serbian was on, though. They have been able to stabilise their finances and crack on with strengthening their team all over the pitch.
