Brady Played Key Role in Loan System

Brady Played Key Role in Loan System

As the debate about the loan system in English football goes on, we reveal that it was Karen Brady who championed the system.

Many of the top clubs are pooling talent like there is no tomorrow. They then loan them out in the drones either to reap the rewards or eventually release them without a club.

The top clubs spend a lot of time scouting for younger talent, hoping to avoid an inflated transfer fee should they find them at a later stage in their career.

It also allows the top club to develop the player in their style, ready for their first team.

Chelsea for example currently have 26 players out on loan. Something that was not envisaged when the system was originally debated.

Then, newly promoted Birmingham, were seeking to bring in players on loan to enable lesser teams to compete for Premier League stability. An argument that worked quite well in their favour, eventually leading to the likes of Mikael Forssell gracing St Andrews.

The outgoing loan operation at the likes of Chelsea, pooling talent, denying other clubs a chance at developing players. Also the incoming loans of Falcao were unlikely visions for a system that was supposed to support the lesser clubs, not the bigger ones.

What do you think about the upside down loan system?
