Malouda's Staff Contacted Birmingham

Malouda's Staff Contacted Birmingham

Birmingham City have hit back at Flourent Malouda after revealing that it was actually his people that contacted them.

Malouda's agent has since admitted to the club that he did not tell the former French international about the offer they made. His staff contacted Malcolm Crosby about the availability of their client.

Clark revealed that the club had made a financial offer far bigger than what would be expected from a club in Birmingham's position. Himself, Panos Pavlakis and Malcolm Crosby were all ready to make the trip to London to meet the player for talks.

The agent decided himself that the financial package was not what they were looking for and obviously never told his player before news broke of the contact.

Why Blues were ridiculed yesterday for a seemingly untrue story is clearly without foundation as we thought. The club are going about trying to improve the squad in an honest fashion and should not have to apologise for trying to sign some quality players.

Birmingham will continue to look for players to strengthen their team, albeit within their wages structure. But it is now clear that should a real match winner become available, Birmingham are willing to throw everything at it.
