Martins Reviving His Career

Martins Reviving His Career

Carling Cup Winner Obafemi Martins hopes to win a recall to his national team after reviving his career over in the USA.

Martins has scored 13 goals for the Seattle Sounders, also boasting 9 assists. He netted again in their last game against Real Salt Lake in a 3-2 home win.

The 29 year old had been omitted from the Nigerian national team for the World Cup and only played in one of the qualifying games. Blues fans will remember having Martins on loan where he netting the winning goal in the Carling Cup final.

Nigerian themselves are on the back of their first home defeat in 33 years after losing 3-2 to Congo Bazzaville. So the famous striker may have a chance to force his way into consideration at a time where their manager will be reviewing his side.
