'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Striker The Priority

Steve Bruce has said his January warchest, if one materialises, is most likely going to go on another striker.

Not exactly the revelation of this Championship season, as Bendtner could still be recalled by Arsenal and the Forse is out until well into the new year with injury.

Speaking to the official site, he said:

'For obvious reasons over the last couple of months or so I have honestly not asked the question yet about transfer funds in January.

'But I know that with the way the owners work if we are there or thereabouts at Christmas and a player becomes available then there's always a possibility they'll push the boat out.

'In the back of my mind if we need a push and a couple of players become available because of the owners' clout there's a possibility, but we'll have a conversation in the next couple of weeks.

'Generally I'm very happy with the squad, but the one area I'm a little bit concerned about is the area at the top end of the pitch because of the continual injuries to Dunn and Forssell.'
