Toys Out Of The Pram - Bendtner

Toys Out Of The Pram - Bendtner

After not being allowed to take the penalty against Preston, Bendtner stropped and refused to celebrate with his team mates.

Gary McSheffrey has explained his decision and I for one am thoroughly on side with him:

'Nicklas is a young lad who wants to score goals but today I was always going to take it - whether I was on a hat-trick or not.

'The boss wants me to take them and I have given them away before.

'When I was at Coventry, Bjarni Gudjonsson had already scored twice and I gave a penalty to him to get his hat-trick even though I was the taker.

'He missed and Eric Black told me never to do that again. It is a lesson I have learned.

'Nicklas set me up for the penalty so there are no hard feelings. It was inevitable I was going to take it and get a hat-trick.'

Bendtner himself has explained the strop, and to be honest just sounds like a spoilt little brat if I'm to be honest about things.

Fair enough he wants as many goals as he can possibly get, no problems there, but if the manager has picked a taker then suck it up and impress the manager to change his mind. Don't try and steal the ball and then sulk by the corner flag - that's just childish.

'I wanted it. I played him in and wanted the goal.

'I asked him for it but then all the other players were saying he should take it.

'When it's nine against one you just have go down on your own I guess.

'But he already had two goals and I wanted one.'

Blub, Blub.
