Result Was Not A Fluke

Following our fantastic result against Newcastle last night, a glowing Steve Bruce told reporters that the performance was no fluke.

'The result's shocked a few people, but it was no fluke - that's for sure.

'We played ever so well on the night.

'The lads have come up here and put on a really terrific performance. Over the last few weeks I've always said we'd get better.

'I never thought I'd bring a team to Newcastle and win 5-1. Coming back is always a bit special.

'It's a fantastic return for someone on the left-hand side.

'He's played very, very well today, so hopefully he can stick a few more in.'

Doubt it. League is all important and although the cup run is nice I'd swop it for more league wins and building up a gap at the top.
