Blues chasing loan deal for Everton winger

Blues chasing loan deal for Everton winger

Birmingham City boss Harry Redknapp wants to take Everton's Aaron Lennon on loan, according to the Daily Mail.

Lennon, 30, has not played since February as a result of personal issues which saw him detained under the Mental Health Act in May.

The former England international returned to training not long ago and could now be set for a reunion with Redknapp after the pair worked together at Tottenham.

Reports also claim that Redknapp is looking to tie up a deal for Aston Villa's Tommy Elphick within the next 24 hours, despite already bringing in Marc Roberts earlier in the window.

So far we've been linked to just about everyone who has played previously for Harry so why not Aaron Lennon as well. Modric, Erikson and Van Der Vaart I'm still waiting on.

Lennon I can understand but Elphick leaves me a bit baffled.Perhaps Shotton or Morrison is scheduled to leave.Trust in Redknapp I do so there must be good reasons. As regards Lennon, this is a proven player with pace and dangerous in the penalty area-so it's a thumbs up from me.

I get the feeling that Harry is building a crazy gang ..remember Wimbledon , you can feel the power growing in blues team , perhaps we need 6' 8" Lacina Traore 27 up front if we get Lennon ...

Why are Everton loaning him out is he not out of contract soon why not just sell him they don't want him. And how is he a improvement on Cottrell or Mags. He as lost his pace he as a good cross on him but not any better than Cottrell who is on his way out. I know HR likes crossers of the ball but is there not younger faster players available. Unless its a loan with a permanent deal in place I don't see the point.

Lol @ waycool. So Lennon isn't good enough but you're ok with a permanent move over a loan?

I ant saying he is not good enough just that he is not any better than Cottrell. It seem like moving for moving's sake on both sides I just don't see the reason for it.
