Transfer Talk: Blues in the hunt for Chelsea sensation

Transfer Talk: Blues in the hunt for Chelsea sensation

Birmingham City are reportedly in the race for Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker, according to reports.

However, before Harry Redknapp has even made any progress on a deal to bring the England under 21 international to he club, he looks set to miss out on another target.

According to the Northern Echo online, fellow Championship side Middlesbrough are also in the running for his signature and it is believed that they are the favourites.

Blues are currently a little light in the attacking midfield role and there is thought to be talks on going between Lazio and Blues about the availability of Ravel Morrison but Redknapp clearly wants to look at other options.

In the same reports, it suggests that Baker is set to leave on a two-year loan deal meaning that should Boro get promoted, he will finally have a chance at proving himself in the top flight of English football.

Blues fans, would you like to see the club trying to match the Middlesbrough offer that is on the table for Lewis Baker? Let us know in the comment section down below!

I would like us to stop running around like headless chickens and get some players signed up ,

Tom. Commenters like David make good sense. He also reflects what many of us feel with this barmy wave after wave of 'potential incomings'. What would be really useful would be an update on current serious business e.g. Ravel Morison, Shotton leaving,Downing saga,Flint fiasco etc. Vital site is good Tom but don't let it become a Sun page three tit-bit.

Ohio as this transfer market goes on and on the more I am finding myself agreeing with you.Your post echo's what many of us are thinking.I am fed up with media driven speculation,it's time to see some contracts signed and not reading stories every day about potential signings.
