Reports: Blues complete €4.5m deal for midfielder

Birmingham City have sealed a €4.5m deal to sign Trabzonspor midfielder Ogenyi Onazi, reports in Turkey claim.

It's no hidden secret that Harry Redknapp is still looking to bolster his midfield options, after he saw a deal for Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu fall through not so long ago.

Onazi, 24, joined Trabzonspor from Lazio last summer and made 27 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig, scoring two goals.

He is a Nigerian international with 38 caps to his name and was part of the squad that won the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

I know nothing about this player however if Redknapp has identified him as an addition that will benefit the first team he must be good. It's positive news but I won't hold my breath until the ink is dried on his contract. It's big money for us,I hope the transfer kitty has plenty left to sign the striker we urgently need to play alongside Adams.

This player sounds good. Probably means goodbye to Gleeson.
