Transfer Talk: Second bid submitted for Luton striker

Transfer Talk: Second bid submitted for Luton striker

Birmingham City have reportedly gone back to League Two side Luton Town with an improved offered for striker Isaac Vassell, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Initially, both Blues and Bristol City saw their opening bids of £1.2 million rejected for 23-year-old forward, but it is now believed that Harry Redknapp has returned with a higher offer.

Nixon tweeted: 'Birmingham City back in strong for Vassell. Battle on with Bristol City again.'

Last week, the Hatters manager Nathan Jones said that he wouldn't stand in the way of Vassell reaching his full potential and he now looks like he could be set for a move to the Championship.

It is believed that a fee in the region of £1.5-£2 million would be enough to secure the services of the striker who has scored two goals in his opening two league games this season.

The news comes just hours after Blues beat Bristol City 2-1 at St.Andrew's in a game that saw Blues' main goal threat, Che Adams, limp off with a hamstring injury.

Get him Harry! If they want that bit extra then I'll stump it up.Just sign him before he goes elsewhere.

Agreed Ohio,Harry sign him now before Bristol C grab him. It's so disheartening to be in this awful situation,no way should we have started the season without a new striker,45 goals last season in 46 games, that stat won't change much,in fact it probably would drop without Adams. One fit striker who is ageing and prone to injury, dreadful situation. Only positive news is the three points today. KRO

Looks like it will be 451 on Tuesday with Tesche coming back into the side. I hope Harry gives the likes of Storer and Hale a chance. Vassell sounds a good prospect we need to get him in ASAP. Fantastic win today. Roberts looked a class act.
