Deal OFF: Onazi denied work permit to join Blues

Ogenyi Onazi's proposed move to Birmingham City is off after the player was denied a work permit, BBC Sport have confirmed.

Blues had agreed a deal to sign the 24-year-old in a €4.5m deal from Turkish club Trabzonspor.

Onazi is a regular in the Nigerian national team but various factors led to his appeal for a work permit being rejected.

He will remain with Trabzonspor.

My worst fears have come true, when reading about this potential signing I did consider the work permit and hoped everything would work smoothly .Redknapp must be thinking why did he take this job on,nothing is working out for him, setback after setback, time is FAST running out,I would be amazed if he managed to bring in the quality we need now.We might have to struggle on until January and by them, unless the team overachieves we will be too far behind to catch the top six and more worrying we could find ourselves struggling. As each day passes I am becoming increasingly negative.
