Transfer Talk: Blues concede defeat in Ravel Morrison move

Transfer Talk: Blues concede defeat in Ravel Morrison move

Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that the club have given up hope of signing Lazio midfielder Ravel Morrison.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail at his pre-Burton Albion press conference this afternoon, the 70-year-old admitted that a deal to bring the attacking midfielder to the club looked increasingly unlikely now and that it looks like the move is off.

Earlier in the window it was believed that Blues had offered the Italian side a small amount of money to help pay off some of Morrison's wages in order to bring him in on loan, a deal that was politely rejected by Lazio.

With the Serie A side looking to get Morrison off the books, only a permanent deal would have suited them, whereas Blues were looking to get him on a season long loan deal.

Blues have yet again failed in their attempts to bring in another new player.

Seems Harry wasn't convinced enough to offer more than 3k a week. he probably thought it might be worth a punt at this price but there are other players out there who will give 100% in every game.

A total farce. Why offer peanuts to the parent club.Morrison could offer so many options to the manager,I can't see why he won't offer more in paying for his wages. Maybe there is a reason we don't know about,if there is it's time Redknapp told us about it.So yet another slips through our fingers.I had such high expectations when Redknapp signed his one year contract, rapidly those ambitions are evaporating.
