Transfer news: Blues set to sign Arsenal duo on loan

Arsenal full-backs Carl Jenkinson and Cohen Bramall are both set to join Birmingham City on season-long loan deals, according to numerous reports.

Jenkinson, 25, has spent most of his recent playing time at West Ham United where he featured 52 times for them during two separate loan spells.

The right-back has found it difficult to nail down a first-team spot under Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, with injury being his more recent downfall.

He has one England cap to his name, after he replaced Glen Johnson in a 4-2 friendly defeat against Sweden.

Crystal Palace were keen on signing Jenkinson and there was other Premier League interest, but Blues have beaten them to the finish.

Bramall, 21, is more of an unknown quantity having only joining The Gunners in a dream move from non-league Hednesford Town in January.

He is a left-back with great pace but the Premier League side are keen for him to continue his development where he could see first team Championship football.

Blues hope to complete the deals later today.

Great news that we have added both of these Arsenal players to our ranks, especially so when Premiership clubs had an interest in them, that's what happens when we have a manager with the calibre of Redknapp,he draws players for they are all aware of how good a manager he is. Added to this duo the loan signing of Gallagher is great, just wondering if we will regret not signing him on a permanent basis, the chance was there for £12 million however that's a huge sum for us.The likes of Middlesbrough and Vile have parachute payments assisting them,it's very hard to compete with clubs who have recently dropped out of the Premiership. Harry has now delivered us several true quality players with more still to come despite all the set backs. Our season starts here. KRO...
