Bruce Considered Quitting

I'm not really sure of the veracity of these claims and comments from Brucie, I can't see him actually jumping or seriously considering it.

Upson has only played a small part this season so sitting high in the league has very little to do with the self proclaimed England international so in reality Upson didn't offer much to the team, and thus we won't really miss him.

You could tell Bruce was upset and the board have screwed him, and although the rift may take a while to heal if I was a betting man and Bruce thought of quitting he wouldn't do it whilst we weren't straight top of the league at least because of his own reputation.

This itself causes problems because another faux par from the board in the future or any semblance of not backing Bruce next window and then I could see him packing his bags.

Speaking to SSN he said:

'For a moment.

'I can only apologise if I led people to believe he was staying, because that's what I thought too.

'I felt there was no way we were selling him. I had put my point to the board a couple of weeks back and we were all in agreement.

'Something then changed. Whatever the reasons were, you'd better ask the people who employ me.

'I didn't think it was the right move and if you look at all our competitors, none of them cashed in, which I can understand.

'What's frustrating is that Gareth Bale didn't go, Giles Barnes didn't go, Curtis Davies didn't go, David Nugent didn't go.

'Offers came in for those players. A lot of clubs in this division kept hold of their star assets and that's what I wanted to do.'
