The Three Pointer Vs. Wolves

The Three Pointer Vs. Wolves

Birmingham City entertain league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers tomorrow night in front of the Sky Sports cameras once again.

The game already has spice to it with it being a local derby, but surely the Blues players will want to knock Nuno Espirito Santo`s side off their high horse.

Wolves are running away with it at the moment, let`s be honest. I fully expect them to gain promotion to the Premier League, however they are still there to be beaten.

Why can't we be the team to stop their five-game winning run? We certainly need to build on last Saturday`s point gained at Sheffield United and get some consistency going.

Steve Cotterill opted to go with five-at-the-back at Bramall lane and, considering it went pretty well, I wouldn't be surprised to see him use it again.

Despite it being fairly defensive with the options we have available, I still think that we have enough in attack to cause problems.

Granted, we may have an awful scoring record but the focus still has to be on taking one game at a time and making sure we keep ourselves in games by being solid.

Wolves have unbelievable quality available to them and we all know that they'll dominate the ball at times.

What we've got to do is frustrate them and put them under pressure. Let's take the sting out of their play and, most importantly for me, win that midfield battle.

If we get the likes of Jeremie Boga and Jota running off someone like Lukas Jutkiewicz, then we`ll certainly get our opportunities.

We're coming up against the team that have scored the most goals this season, we have to make sure that we stay in the game.

We know we don't score many ourselves, so keeping Wolves at bay is a must.

It's easier said than done, yes, but I believe that Cotterill will have worked hard all week on the shape of his side and making sure we stay compact.

We've been slightly boosted by the fact that Ruben Neves is suspended for Wolves, but they certainly have the players to come in and replace him.

For Blues, how about we step onto that St. Andrew`s pitch, feed off the crowd and play with the feeling that we could get something out of this game.

Of course, we've got to be cautious of the threat Wolves pose, but let's also express ourselves and put in a performance that we won't look back on with regret.

In all the years of Blues local derbies,I cannot recall one that has been awaited with such dread as tonight's game against Wolves.

I'm glad we didn't get hammered. No shots on target in 90 minutes is a disgrace. Get some crosses into the box. Our strikers are starved of service. It was only Stockdale that kept us in the game. Gleeson made a big difference when he came on. If you are gonna play Juke then you need players close to him to feed off knock-downs. There was nothing at all. We have no choice but to revert to a back 4 next game. Maybe get Cotterill and Boga on wings with Adams and Juke up top.

0 is a disgrace that we don't shoot in ninety minutes. This is happening in every game whether it is Burton or Wolves-it makes no difference. For Cotterill to start without Davis or Adams shows just where our manager belongs, this being in a league much lower. To get the ten wins now looks impossible with the games remaining, coupled with the woeful squad of zero attacking abilities.Cotterill will not, imo,be allowed money as Fulham will surely end his tenure.Forget the fact of what he has inherited,he simply hasn't got it.Even at this desperate stage of our season and bearing in mind that Jota and Adams are fit again together with Colin returning with Jenkinson-GO GET REDKNAPP back and say to him-'all the players you bought are available to you now' -this is really a viable option as without doubt our club is teetering on oblivion should our drop be confirmed as early as next Easter.

Grounds played left midfield,Jukey played wide right and Adams and Davis on bench.Rank bad Coach. For once in my life I want Fulham to sink the nail and get someone who can give us a fighting chance.
