Pub Talk #2: Cotterill, Vetere, Dein and Stockdale

Pub Talk #2: Cotterill, Vetere, Dein and Stockdale

Rob Wildey offers his thoughts on all things related to Birmingham City. So grab a pint, take a seat and enjoy.

The Blues manager is undoubtedly feeling the pressure of the club`s struggles. After Saturday`s defeat at Fulham, Cotterill spoke to a handful of Blues fans outside Craven Cottage. 'I know what the problems are and I`m trying to address them'.

While Cotterill has won back a little respect after he failed to acknowledge the 4,000 plus fans in the away end at the final whistle, the job is visibly taking its toll. The players aren`t performing and many fans are turned off by the style of football.

Our sources suggest that Cotterill is walking on very thin ice. QPR are the opposition at St. Andrew`s this weekend and if Blues suffer another miserable defeat, it could be the beginning of the end for the 53 year-old. If that is the case, who do we turn to next…?

Ahh, Blues` Director of Football. I saw him with my own eyes late on Friday afternoon. He was in Laghi`s deli in near Five Ways in Birmingham laughing and joking on his mobile phone.

I`m glad to see him enjoying the predicament the club is in. While he earns on obscene amount of money for doing who knows what, the fans are the ones forking out time and time again to back the team.

If Cotterill is under pressure then surely Vetere and Darren Dein must be too?

My understanding is that both of the above men played a massive part in Blues` summer transfer window. Cotterill, on the other hand, didn`t. So if one falls, by rights, the other two should.

Blues may be at the wrong end of the table but they can at least boast one of the best goalkeepers in the league. Single goal defeats against Wolves and Fulham had the potential to be embarrassing without Stockdale`s saves.

He must be wondering why the hell he left Brighton to join Blues…

Rob,look at our current financial situation as per Often Partisan.Read into it,study the millions spent compared to 2016 on wages etc and the mammoth £42m.required etc.League One may be just a minor problem compared to what's around the corner.Never felt at ease with what has gone on since Zola and Harry etc.
