Blues midfielder pondering over St. Andrews future

Blues midfielder pondering over St. Andrews future

Stephen Gleeson is considering a move away from Birmingham City this month after two club's expressed an interest in the Ireland international.

The 29 year-old has struggled for first team opportunities this season and is not against leaving the club to seek playing time elsewhere.

Gleeson is held in high regard by manager Steve Cotterill for his training work ethic and good performances in the limited time he has been involved in recent weeks.

However, the former MK Dons man, who signed for Blues three-and-a-half years ago, has several players ahead of him in the pecking order and was left out of the match day squad at Reading last night.

Two unnamed clubs have enquired about the player's availability but no firm offers have been forthcoming.

There is a possibility of Gleeson leaving the club on loan until his contract expires in June, making him a free agent.

Gleeson could be the second player to leave the club after David Cotterill was released of his contract by mutual consent last month.

Gleeson had a good game when he came on but that's what he is like 1 or 2 good games and then goes missing . He should be sold we should be looking to recoup some money out of him. his he not injured anyway is that not why he has been left out. Glad to see you have toned down the adds on here.

Backup player at best. Did well a few games back but we need better.
