Blues hoping to extend loan deal of Chelsea youngster
Birmingham City are working with Chelsea in an attempt to strike a deal which will see Jeremie Boga remain at St. Andrews on loan next season.
The 21 year-old winger has appeared 25 times during a fairly successful loan spell this term and would be open to another year in the second city. In the event of Blues being relegated to League One in May, Chelsea would pull the plug on any potential agreement.
Boga signed a new three-year contract at Stamford Bridge in August and is a player the hierarchy in West London rate highly.
But with Chelsea`s vast options in wide areas and their financial muscle which is likely to see a squad overhaul in the summer, Boga is unlikely to be anywhere near their first team squad.
Boga has bags of potential but is still very wet behind the ears - a situation that Steve Cotterill and Jeff Vetere (Director of Football) hope to take advantage of.
Blues have accrued a lot of credit in the bank where Chelsea are concerned as Boga has been given the opportunity to develop and they will hope to be at the front of the queue for his services.
Meanwhile, 20 year-old defender Wes Harding yesterday penned a contract extension keeping him at Blues until June 2020.
