Blues set to seal Faddy deal

Everton striker James McFadden is expected to undergo a medical with Birmingham on Friday and, assuming it uncovers no problems, the player will join the club.

On Thursday afternoon, Everton announced they had accepted a bid from Birmingham City for the 24-year-old Scotland international - thought to be around £5.5million.

However, Sky Sports News then reported that McFadden ended talks without reaching an agreement and his agent Willie McKay has claimed another club have now expressed an interest.

But it now appears those reports were wide of the mark and McFadden will join in time for the clash with Chelsea at the weekend, along with left-back David Murphy, who completed his signing from Hibs on Thursday.

No it's nothing complicated, it's just the lad's got sence

Second bid accepeted, and faddy wanted an 6 million release clause in his contract if you go down, which you wouldn't give him
EvertonMike
If that's the reason then not accepting it (for now) is ridiculous, but there's still plenty of time to go here.
The Blues Brother
Can't see him going to the other interested party, so you just need to up your offer for him!
EvertonMike
Who are the other team? Newcastle? Legia Warsaw?!?
OneTeamInBirmingham
He'll be in our shirt on Friday, I'm confident.

Genuine question, who's the bigger club? Birmingham or Everton? Do you think McFadden witl be guaranteed (or as close to a guarantee as possible) a start each week. I would tend to think so as I feel he's a McLeish favourite.
itsnomarooned
He would get more action than he does at the moment.
The Blues Brother
who's the biggest club? if ya know ya history!
toffeetower
Are you crazy?! How many years have bcfc been in the top flight? Euro trophies? FA cup? League titles?
ARTETA4SPAIN
he'll start at birmingham every week, he will score 4 wonder goals and do little else and watch as brum go down
EvertonMike
Sorry birmingham , but that's 6 million wasted , hes greedy, and generally tackles himself averaging around 3-4 goals a season , you could of got somebody alot better for alot cheaper.
