Blues Make Short Trip To Derby

Here we go again and this time around it might be a long, hard season for Blues as a new look side with a new manager.

The club also has terrible problems off the field and we must hope that Chris Hughton can keep his team concentrating on the football and keep aiming for that return to the top flight.

Vital Quotes:

Scott Dann: "There`s not much to say about my future," said Dann.

"We have got our first game and hopefully I`m playing, but that`s down to the manager.

"Obviously players have gone and that`s just the way things have happened.

"From a personal point of view, I am still a Birmingham City player until I get told otherwise.

"With us getting relegated, you always have to make cuts and sell players."

Derby County Team News:

Derby have a doubt over Nathan Tyson (groin), who was taken off during the pre-season win against Aston Villa.

Conor Doyle, Stephen Pearson and Jamie Ward are also doubtful, but summer arrival Jason Shackell is fit and will make his Rams debut.

Player to watch: Steven Davies

Started scoring a few towards the end of last season and will no doubt be wanting to carry on from where he left off.

Birmingham City Team News:

Birmingham have fit-again defender Scott Dann back, but are without three of their four main strikers.

Cameron Jerome (heel), Nikola Zigic (groin) and new signing Marlon King (knee) are all sidelined.

Lets face it, who else is left?
