Blues vs. Nottingham Forest

St Andrews

Saturday 21 December

15.00

Birmingham Host Nottingham Forest

Birmingham take on Nottingham Forest at home this Saturday and the game sees two teams in good form clash in the winter break.

The Blues recent home form isn`t quite there, with them drawing just under half of their fixtures at St Andrews. Birmingham`s last win at home coming back on the 1st October, a 4-0 win over Millwall.

Whilst Forest are well versed on the road, they have won 40% of their last 20 away. Nottingham dispatched their last 3 points on the road last time out at the expensive of Sheffield Wednesday 1-0. They are hoping to record their first back to back away win since March.

Blues fans have current bragging rights though, the last time these two met, Blues mustered a 2-1 victory.

A win away at Bournemouth has really taken Blues confidence onto the next level, a professional and solid performance is reason to spread festive cheer throughout the ranks. That win make it six unbeaten for Lee Clarks men and he has insisted that nothing has changed to result in this run.

For a lot of fans they will be waiting to see the line up. And more importantly what formation Clark goes with. The 4-2-3-1 has served Birmingham gold away from home, but will Lee Clark opt for 2 up front in a tough home game?

Blues will be looking to Jesse Lingard to excite the home fans in this game, his passing and intelligence has been a key role in Birmingham`s attacking ranks. Zigic is no doubt enjoying the new role Lingard has in the centre of the three midfield.

Forest have sold out the away end, thank you and well done for that. 3,650 of the Forest faithful will be there to make up a noisy away end.

The club have said there is a limited amount of tickets left for home supporters, so I embrace the advice of ensuring you have a ticket before attending the ground. Please avoid the disappointment of being turned away.

Vital Quotes:

Clark told the Official site that the players have been giving him the same all season and that it is nice for them to be getting the rub of the green these past 6 games.

As ever there was a mention for the fans in the pre-game release, Clark credits the fans for sticking with the team from the first whistle.

Blues Team News:

As for the squad news, Lee Novak will not make the game, he has failed to shake off a leg injury. Mitch Hancox (knee), Matt Green (knee), Jonathan Spector (thigh), David Murphy (knee), Akwasi Asante (hamstring) and Neal Eardley (knee) are all out.

Player to watch: Jesse Lingard

Lingard as explained will be involved in most things positive for Birmingham tomorrow.

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Forest will be without key players Chris Cohen and Kelvin Wilson for this game. Their flying start to the season has had to endure a come down to slower endeavours recently. Fuelling rumours that they are to splash the cash for a striker this January.

They are however hoping to welcome back, on loan midfielder, David Vaughan to strengthen their midfield. Darius Henderson is understood to be working back to fitness, however Danny Collins looks set to just miss the St Andrews fixture. Kevin Wilson (centre back) is still out long term for Forest.

Player to watch: Simon Cox

The former baggies man is holding the line for Forest decently well lately, despite rumours he is to be replaced
