Birmingham Take on Millwall

Birmingham City

The Den

30 September

Birmingham travel to Millwall today hoping to put to bed a disappointing run that has been made all the more annoying, to the fans, by the apparent inability to see out a win.

Blues have lost points to Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday, Norwich and most recently now Fulham. The fans are becoming restless but will no doubt be there to back the team tonight.

Ian Holloway hasn't exactly worked magic since taking over at the Den and they look destined to be around the lower half of midtable this season. Certainly a game Blues should be aiming to win.

Blues now sit 21st with seven points from nine games. It is time to win some matches and move away from the drop zone.

Vital Quotes:

Steve Watson spoke to the press yesterday and said

we couldn`t be any more frustrated than we are now.

But I think we have seen enough in spells of games, even if it is an hour, to know that when we can get the lads to have that belief in themselves, to shut up shop when thing are going badly then kick on again, it will change because that`s the big thing for me.

I am pleased with the lads we have got and I believe in them

Millwall Team News:

Nicky Bailey should continue his return to action against Birmingham.

Carlos Edwards and Lee Martin both have knee injuries and will be unable to play.

Player to watch: Ricardo Fuller

A dangerous player at this level, capable of moments of pure class. Birmingham will do well to pay him the respect he deserves.

Birmingham City Team News:

Jonathan Spector looks unlikely to make the game after injuring his thigh against Fulham.

Young Koby Arthur could be set to get involved after recovering from a tight hamstring. His recent loan spell at Cheltenham was a huge success.

Player to watch: Wes Thomas

I haven't tipped Thomas at all this season and he is probably due one. Donaldson isn't finding the net recently and Blues need to turn to this man tonight, I see a headed goal.
