Blues go to City

Blues visit the City of Manchester Stadium in search of our first win at City's new home.

Blues will be boasted by the return of Mikael Forssell to the squad but we are still with Mario Melchiot, Neil Kilkenny and Muzzy Izzet

SB Says . . .

'There's no Melchiot, Izzet, or Kilkenny,' said the Blues boss.

'Mario and Muzzy have got grade one tears of their thigh muscles, so we are looking at three of four weeks which is not good considering we haven't got the kindest of fixtures coming up.

'But we are hoping that Kilkenny will be available some time next week.'

Man City Team News:

Manchester City are without suspended duo Richard Dunne and Andy Cole.

Skipper Sylvain Distin (groin) and Ben Thatcher (hamstring) are doubtful, while Danny Mills (fractured shin) is definitely out.

Man City (from): James, De Vlieger, Onuoha, Sun, Sommeil, Distin, Thatcher, Jordan, Sinclair, Croft, Barton, Reyna, Ireland, Musampa, Vassell, Wright-Phillips, Fowler.

Player to watch: Joey Barton

The City midfielder has been in fine form lately and Blues will have to work hard to keep him quiet.

Blues Team News:

Blues will be boasted by the return of Mikael Forssell to the squad but we are still with Mario Melchiot, Neil Kilkenny and Muzzy Izzet

Player to watch: Emile Heskey

Emile has been putting in some outstanding performances in the past weeks and will be looking to bang in a few goals that his hard work deserves
