Forest Hold Birmingham

Nottingham were down to ten men and held onto a 0-0 draw come the final whistle in today`s clash. The result marks Birmingham`s fourth consecutive draw at St Andrews.

It is safe to say Birmingham did their fans proud by having the better of the game, however they couldn`t quite capitalise on the bright play. Jesse Lingard in particular was outstanding at finding space and orchestrating everything in the middle of the park.

Lee Clark went for an unchanged team from the line up that did so well at Bournemouth last time out.

Forest started well with Andy Reid causing problems, Birmingham stood firm though and there was to be no early breakthrough.

Then it was the turn of Karl Darlow to step up for Forest. The Keeper made three brilliant first half saves. Nottingham may well feel this is a point well earned.

Birmingham came back with a looping header from Tom Adeyemi after a deep Chris Burke cross caused all kinds of chaos in the box. The header landed in the roof of the net.

Dan Harding will be happy he wasn`t dismissed as he committed two questionable tackles. He hacked down Lingard and then in turn Burke, only to be booked for the second challenge.

Chris Burke will be happy with his afternoon; he probably thought he was in luck when his long range dipping shot looked destined to ignite the St Andrews crowd. The save was greeted with a sigh of anticipation from around the ground.

At this point in the game Blues were on the front foot for long periods and in the 37th minute Burke picked out Zigic perfectly, only for him to miss his header completely.

Forest started the second half far better than before, Davies must have had a commanding influence on them. All of a sudden the midfield was actually becoming a battle that Blues were losing.

Greg Halford had a header cleared off the line by none other than the big man Zigic.

Birmingham regrouped though and finished the stronger side. The second half was a far more measure approach from the teams, with chances few and far between.

In what will be the big talking point of the match, Darius Henderson was given his marching orders for a foul on Paul Robinson on 82 minutes. The tackle was late and reckless, Robinson was furious. I strong suggest you watch the highlights.

Nikola Zigic had arguably the brightest chance to win the game, but the big Serb couldn`t manage it and missed the first half chance.

Star Player

There were a lot of good performers out there today, especially in that midfield. I'm giving my star performer to Chris Burke as he was so integral to all of our first half chances.
