'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Gaffers View: Southampton v Blues

The striker had been on the field for barely a minute before he scored against his former club to hand Blues another win.

McLeish said: 'Kevin is a fabulous striker and there is no-one better than him at scoring goals like that.

'He has the ability to score whenever he is on the pitch and you know that if he gets just one chance then he will bury it.

'I thought Southampton were the better side in the first half but we were much the better side in the second. Southampton deserved to go into the break 1-0 up but I am pleased with our performance in the second half.

'We created a lot of chances and I felt we fully deserved our victory and all three points and I am really pleased with the way we performed.'

'I thought Southampton were the better side in the first half but we were much the better side in the second. Southampton deserved to go into the break 1-0 up but I am pleased with our performance in the second half.' Cant argue with that, its exactly how I saw it.

another great win 28 more to go and we'll be there. have to say o'connor is looking good so far he's got three assists and a goal he's definatelty looking fitter than last year. think thats our first league away win since tottenham so well done big eck to. had heard in the week that the balde deal was back in motion and also saw a tv interview with mcleish who said he still hoped to make another 1 or 2 signings before the window closes. barnsley next lets hope we can keep this run going. on another note come on man city hope mark hughes gets off to a flyer today kro
