'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Oppositions View: Owen Coyle

Bolton manager Owen Coyle believes that his keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen fully deserved his red card, but maintains that his actions were out of character.

The Bolton number one saw red after slapping Roger Johnson after the pair had come out of a tangle before half time.

But down to ten men the home side fought hard and pulled back both the goals thanks to Kevin Davies who scored from the spot and Robbie Blake who curled in a dramatic late free kick.

Coyle told Sky Sports: 'It was very out of character but it was clearly a sending-off, no doubt about it.

'What I would say is that Jussi saved us last week when he was the architect of the three points against West Ham.

'He knows he's done wrong but he's made a mistake and he will bounce back.'

Coyle also believes his side should have picked up all three points.

He added: 'We know the courage these boys have got and the bravery and desire. They've dragged themselves into the game.

'If you analyse that game, they'll probably feel that they're probably worthy of the win.

'But, with 2-0 down and with ten men, we're absolutely delighted to have salvaged a point from it.'
