Wigan boss Roberto Martinez was pleased that his side got a point from their visit to St Andrews.

He was satisfied that his team managed to restrict Blues into creating very few chances in a game that neither side wanted to lose.

But the Wigan boss was not too pleased with Gardner`s tackle on Di Santo that earned the Blues player a red card.

Martinez told the BBC: 'I am satisfied with the result. We knew we had to restrict Birmingham and go with their threat because they have developed a way to win games and at home are very successful.

'Our concentration was there at all times and I felt we had our moments, we had more corners and attempts than the home side which is pleasing - it is a very difficult place to come and I'm very pleased with the performance.

'Gardner really caught Di Santos's leg and it is a worry to see what the extent of the injury is.'
