'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Gaffers View: Blackpool Home (2-0)

Blues manager Alex McLeish spoke of how changing things around a bit helped his side onto the win over Blackpool.

Birmingham romped to a 2-0 victory over the Seasiders and it could have been a bigger margin of victory had Blues taken more of their chances.

McLeish said: 'I've been in the game a long time and when all is madness around you, don't panic.

'We are in a similar position to what we were at this stage last season and the win will give everyone a shot in the arm.

'We played with a different system, a diamond, and we tried to give Blackpool problems from the start and it worked for us.

'At home you have got to take some risks although I'm not saying we will play that formation every week.'
