Gaffers View: Hughton Thanks Lady Luck.

Birmingham manager Chris Hughton had to admit that his side rode their luck at times in the game against Burnley at Turf Moor last night.

The game ended 3-1 with a couple of late goals for Blues, and although it was their second 3-1 win on the bounce away from home, the game was very different from the one against Doncaster.

Marlon King gave Blues an early boost with a goal on four minutes, but Burnley fought back in the second half and hit the crossbar twice before Danny Ings had the home fans celebrating an equaliser.

But that joy was short lived as Jordon Mutch put Birmingham back in front before David Murphy sealed the win on 88 minutes.

And after the game, Hughton admitted that his side didn`t have it all their own way.

'I thought over the 90 minutes we just deserved it,' said Hughton.

'We had to ride our luck a little bit.

'In the first-half I thought we were good but you're up against a team that are playing at home.

'At 1-1, they had a period before that where I suppose some people watching the game would have thought it (the equaliser) was coming, but we showed great character to get that second goal and I think that was very much the turning point of the game.'

I feel that Hughton is selling himself short, we may have had a bit of luck with them hitting te woodwork twice but that was it..... A 3-1 scoreline doesn't lie.
Mr Parker
Hughton is too modest, 3-1 is 3-1 and a good result away from home
Big Trev
You need an elliment of luck in every game but we had the skill and ability to handle the pressure as well
