'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Oppositions View - Mark Robson - Barnet.

Barnet manager Mark Robson was not too put out about the 5-1 score line at St Andrews last night.

It was the Bees' gaffer's first competitive game in charge and with having new players also to blood into the side, Birmingham City away would have proved to be a major task for the league two side.

But even though he saw his side go down 5-1, he took some positives from the game and was not downbeat at all.

Robson told reporters after the game: 'I was absolutely delighted with the way my team played.

'We were excellent and to be honest we could have gone in 3-1 at half-time instead of 1-1.

'Even in the second half we were quite good. The early goal didn't help and then Darren Ambrose scored a fantastic goal."

Robson pointed out that Blues were a cut above, he also noted that they lost two of the goals very late in the game and maybe a 3-1 score line would have been a much fairer end to the encounter.

He added: "That is the class Birmingham have. Their finishing was first class.

'Even at 3-1 I could have taken it on the chin. The only disappointment I had was the last 10 minutes.

'We caused our own problems and finished up losing 5-1 which was hardly a fair reflection on the game.

'There were lots of positives for me to take out of the game.'
