Gaffers View - Barnet - League Cup (h)

Gaffers View - Barnet - League Cup (h)
Lee Clark might have seen his side win 5-1 against Barnet last night in the Capital One Cup, but he was not pleased about the way they set about doing it.

In the first half, the visitors from league two had things much their own way, they even took the lead after half an hour and you couldn't help feeling that one of those nights were in the pipeline.

But Blues were back in it after Marlon King netted from the penalty spot, although even then City had another scare just before the half time whistle.

After the break Blues came back with Captain Steven Caldwell smashing the ball home for 2-1, it my not have been a deserved lead, but they were in front none-the-less.

Darren Ambrose notched a third in the 54th minute, then Peter Lovenkrands scored the fourth three minutes from time and Wade Elliott scored a fifth a minute later.

Clark told the Press Association: : 'We didn't cause them enough problems early on.

'We had to change a few things at half-time. The players and myself were in agreement what was necessary and we did what was required.

'The second half performance was a big improvement. Not only did we score four goals we actually didn't give them much sight of our goal.

'Basically, it was not us playing at the right speed. Certainly when we did it in the second half that we looked a different side.

'I have to praise the players. They are a honest bunch of players and they are top players who have high demands of themselves.'
